The Light of Liberty and The Worm Ouroboros

"Worm Ouroboros"
A 1922 Heroic high fantasy novel by Eric Eddison which I read at about the age of 14, though nothing from the following poem has been taken from it or any other work. I just beheld the whole sad spectacle before us and started writing.
"Ouroboros"
(Greek) "Tail Devourer"
(From Plato) "The living being had no need of eyes when there was nothing remaining outside him to be seen; nor of ears when there was nothing to be heard; and there was no surrounding atmosphere to be breathed; nor would there have been any use of organs by the help of which he might receive his food or get rid of what he had already digested, since there was nothing which went from him or came into him: for there was nothing beside him. Of design he was created thus, his own waste providing his own food, and all that he did or suffered taking place in and by himself. For the Creator conceived that a being which was self-sufficient would be far more excellent than one which lacked anything; and, as he had no need to take anything or defend himself against any one, the Creator did not think it necessary to bestow upon him hands: nor had he any need of feet, nor of the whole apparatus of walking; but the movement suited to his spherical form was assigned to him, being of all the seven that which is most appropriate to mind and intelligence; and he was made to move in the same manner and on the same spot, within his own limits revolving in a circle. All the other six motions were taken away from him, and he was made not to partake of their deviations. And as this circular movement required no feet, the universe was created without legs and without feet."

"The ouroboros has several meanings interwoven into it. Foremost is the symbolism of the serpent biting, devouring, eating its own tail..."

"Symbiote"
The beings now known on Earth simply as "symbiotes" are a conquering, parasitic race which feed off the emotions of their hosts.

The embodiment of deceit...
So naked a tool for the radical left...
A vessel of weakness
And the truly grotesque.

This is not right
Is it not of this world?
No, says the light
It is not of this world.

The Light of Liberty and
The Worm Ouroboros

The assembled victims would cast their fate
With an evil hissing and unholy hate
It's a fire we see for hide it cannot
So strong is it's need, oh it burns so hot!

Winds rise and fall and howl with rage
While thunder shakes the very sage

Ever closer it comes! Oh please turn away
But with eyes aglaze they all swoon and bray
You'll devour your own! We've warned them away...
But they still won't face the light of day

Since into the empty and inhuman being
the sociopath and symbiote thing
have taken their dreadful and pregnant place
Not light nor goodness can it stand to face

It burns so hot! It needs more blood!
It must have disorder! It must have blood!

While behind the stage
the Sorcerer Soros
commands it's forces
The Worm Ouroboros!

Nowhere to hide and gone is the tower
It must have vengeance! It must have power!
The rumble grows for the gaping maw
Order must die! Liberty and all!

And then... from The Hall, a ray of light!
